A 40-foot trailer truck overturned in Central Village, St Catherine, on Thursday morning after reportedly developing mechanical problems.

The overturned truck caused major traffic congestion along the main road in Central Village as police worked to manage traffic and secure the area.
According to the driver, the trailer was transporting a chassis from Kingston when mechanical difficulties developed. He stated that the chassis became lodged in one side of the trailer’s tyres, causing them to burst and resulting in the vehicle overturning.
Cole said he noticed dust behind the vehicle moments before the incident and realised the trailer was likely to overturn. Despite the frightening experience, he managed to remain in control.
Police reportedly responded quickly and assisted with traffic management while crews awaited cranes to remove the vehicle from the roadway.
Authorities continue efforts to clear the roadway following the incident, which resulted in no reported injuries.
