Police Launch Operation Endgame to Dismantle St James Gang

Police in St James have launched Operation Endgame, a new anti-crime initiative designed to dismantle a robbery syndicate led by a woman known as Toots. Authorities say the group has been linked to several robberies, including incidents targeting Chinese-owned businesses in Montego Bay.

Senior Superintendent of Police Eron Samuels said the initiative will focus on eliminating the gang’s influence ahead of the Yuletide season. “Our efforts will be relentless in ensuring that this robbery syndicate is fully demolished,” he said.

Deputy Superintendent Michael Moore confirmed that more than a dozen suspects connected to the syndicate have been arrested, with firearms seized during recent operations. He added that the arrests have provided relief to the Chinese business community, which has faced repeated attacks.

Operation Endgame expands on previous initiatives, Storm One and Storm Two, combining police resources with the Jamaica Defence Force and other specialized units. The operation also includes measures against praedial larceny, targeting the theft of livestock and produce.

Police statistics show that murders in St James have dropped by nearly 58 percent so far this year, while shootings are down more than 50 percent compared to the same period last year. Authorities say they remain committed to keeping annual murders under 100.

With tourism arrivals expected to rise in the final quarter, police say they are determined to ensure communities remain safe and that businesses can operate without fear.
