Jamaica’s financial sector is focusing on collaboration and compliance as it hosts the 14th Annual Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Hybrid Conference on October 14–15, 2025.
Organised by the Jamaica Bankers’ Association (JBA) and the Jamaica Institute of Financial Services (JIFS), and supported by Digicel Business and Symptai, the event is themed “Securing Our Paradise: Collaborative AML Strategies for Jamaica and the Wider Caribbean.”
The keynote address is being delivered by Dawne Spicer, Executive Director of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), who is expected to set the tone for regional collaboration in AML/CFT compliance.
Other speakers include Danielle Archer of National Integrity Action, who will discuss corruption and governance, and Rory Barrett of Symptai, who will present on cybersecurity and fraud prevention.
Over two days, participants — including bankers, auditors, lawyers, and regulators — will exchange insights on improving transparency, building stronger compliance frameworks, and preparing for the next round of CFATF mutual evaluations.
The conference reinforces Jamaica’s leadership role in the region’s fight against financial crime, highlighting the importance of collaboration and technological innovation in building a resilient financial system.
