BOOT Group Breaks Ground on J$1.5B Commercial Hub in Drax Hall

The BOOT Group of Companies has broken ground on BOOT 2, a J$1.5 billion commercial complex in Drax Hall, St. Ann, that will further strengthen the parish’s position as one of Jamaica’s fastest-growing economic hubs.

Spanning 68,819 square feet across four storeys, the development will feature a supermarket, Wendy’s franchise, cinemas, fine dining options, retail stores, and offices. It will also include underground parking, a pedestrian bridge, and Wi-Fi-enabled bus stops. Construction will take 18 months, generating hundreds of jobs.

CEO Alexcia Boothe described the project as “building communities and enhancing convenience,” while Prime Minister Andrew Holness hailed it as an example of Jamaican entrepreneurship driving national progress. Water Minister Matthew Samuda also confirmed a J$200 million infrastructure upgrade to support the surrounding area.

BOOT 2 aligns with the Government’s Vision 2030 plan and is part of BOOT’s broader expansion strategy, which includes future projects in Montego Bay and other locations.

The development marks a new chapter in Jamaica’s north coast commercial evolution, combining innovation, investment, and community growth.
