Portmore, Jamaica – The Jamaican Constabulary Force (JCF) is investigating a disturbing discovery made on a Portmore beach this past weekend. Skeletal remains found on Saturday, May 17, may belong to Anisa Dilworth, a 21-year-old University of Technology (UTECH) student who went missing ten days earlier.
The remains were found around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to police reports. Authorities from the St. Catherine South Police Division were called to the scene and have since been collecting evidence to determine the identity of the deceased.
“We suspect the remains could be that of Ms. Dilworth based on early findings,” a police source shared, “but we are awaiting forensic confirmation before making a formal identification.”
A Tragic Turn in the Search for Anisa Dilworth
Anisa was last seen on Wednesday, May 7, and her sudden disappearance sparked a growing concern among friends, family, and the wider UTECH community. The discovery of bones near the coastline has shaken residents and reignited calls for increased safety, especially for young women who rely on rideshare services.
Arrest Made: inDrive Driver Questioned
As part of the ongoing investigation, police have detained a driver associated with the inDrive platform. The man is reportedly being questioned in connection with Anisa’s disappearance. However, authorities have not yet confirmed his involvement or released further details.
“We are following multiple leads,” police stated. “The investigation is active, and we urge anyone with knowledge to come forward.”
Superintendent Leighton Grey, head of the St. Catherine South Police, had earlier cautioned against jumping to conclusions. He noted that the bones found appeared “small in stature,” raising doubts at first about whether they belonged to Dilworth. But as the investigation progressed, signs increasingly pointed toward that possibility.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force is appealing to the public for any information that might aid in solving the case. Anyone who may have seen Anisa Dilworth or has details related to the discovery at the beach is asked to contact:
